Roasting Nuts and seeds.

who doesnt love roasted nuts?  they are great tasting and fun to make.

Roasting nuts and seeds is a fairly simple task.  You can either dry roast or roast them in a little oil to enhance their flavor as you prefer.
To Dry Roast just follow the instructions below for Roasting Nuts omitting the oil.
To Roast Nuts:  Coat 1 cup of nuts evenly with 1 t. cooking oil.  On a baking pan spread the nuts evenly and place them into a preheated oven at 350° F.  Stir occasionally til the nuts are fragrant and lightly browned (5-10 minutes).  Be careful because the nuts will continue to cook after removed from the oven.  DO NOT OVERCOOK.
Cool on paper towel.  Sprinkle with salt and enjoy.

To Toast nuts and seeds, place them in a heavy skillet on top the stove.  Heat slowly over low heat, shaking the pan like you would for popcorn.  Cook until slightly browned and smelling terrific.  Takes about 10-15 min.

CVS now does surgery

only kidding. But am I?

CVS is doubling their food sections to compete with supermarkets. In the 'biz' it's called 'channel blurring'. The idea of this is that when a customer walks into a store, they should be able to get what they want when they want it, without having to go to 4 different stores.

So when you go to your pharmacy to get your chol. medication, on the way out you can get a carton of eggs. Makes sense right? one stop shopping.

Lets face it, supermarkets have had pharmacies in their stores for a while now, so to me, it's just fair.

But when you stop and think about it. Do we go anywhere anymore that is strictly what the retail is really about.

Every morning I pull into the gas station before work. No, not to get gas, but to get D&D coffee. That's right, the gas station has a D&D right in the gas station.

Lets not forget about newspaper, milk, snacks, it's all there. Though everything is cramped in and you pray that you don't get stuck behind someone because you can get sandwiched in those isles. Believe me, it's not fun, it happens to me all the time.

So the other day I had to get a gift for a friend. So, like any normal person I walked into the coffee shop. Oh, its not that friend likes coffee, they dont. But, they love music and love to read. So where else would one go for that?...tah dah, the coffee shop. Makes sense right?

Lets face it, it's starting to get a little our of control. I also have gotten myself into the habit of going to the nearest store to get what I need. Why go any further when I can go to the gas station to get feet fungus removal.

But there is a con to all of this, and that is the gas station probably doesn't sell foot fungus removal, but you end up buying some cream that the gas station attendant said his mother in laws sister used and it worked.

so you buy it, because who really wants to drive to another store.

My prediction, within one year, if you need to get a kidney transplant, have no fear, your neighborhood CVS has a surgeon on call that has an office right in the back of the store.

I mean really, how many got the flu shot this year at their local pharmacy? Maybe it's me, I'm just not ready to get my health care in the back of a pharmacy just yet.

But then again, ask me next year. Who knows, it actually might not be that bad now that I think about it. I mean really, after getting discharged from the pharmacy, as I am being pushed out on a wheelchair through the front door, I could stack a bunch of food items and stick them in the wheelchair on my way out the door.

hey, why not? It will save me a trip.

Poll Question

Hi all,

I am actually taking a poll. I'm trying to figure out whats the best way to sell my products. I personally have always shopped by 'product'. but so many people told me that its best to sell by design because if they like a design they are more apt to buy more products with the same design on it.

As I look at what I sold, I havn't noticed any 'impulsive buys'. Which leads me to this poll. As a shopper, how do you shop?

When shopping on line for a mousepad with flowers on it, and you find an online store, would you click on 'mousepads' or would you click on 'flower' products?

newsletter

well, Ive been trying to start a newsletter for my Zazzle store. But being the fact that I am an idiot, I have no idea how to do it.

For some reason, i thought the newsletter is suppose to open up in an email, but no such luck, I tried it.

Then i went into all my emails from everyone I know and put them on BBC. Yes, I admit it, I spammed you all. What are you gonna do, shoot me? yea, i know, I'm sorry, but I was assuming since you were my friends on my email that you would love to see my new newsletter.

So I did my newsletter, sent out my mass email, but due to the emails, the computer picked up that I was spamming.

So how could I be spamming if I am writing every ones email in myself. I have finger cramps to prove it.

so then i cut the emails in sections, so I wouldn't have that many, but still, didn't work very well. spam spam spam.

then I had an idea, what if i act like I am a real store person. You know, subscribe to my newsletter option.

Ive seen it on quite a few sites, well, pretty much all of them.

You know what, I didn't get very far. hours later and still NO 'subscribe to my newsletter' on my site, blog, or even my newsletter.

I'm feeling rather defeated.

Plus, the kids were going crazy too. this usually happens when my ADD is in overdrive. Once I get going on something, its hard to focus on something else. Or is it OCD? I can never remember. But it doesn't matter, the kids just know when I am not focused totally on them.

I wish I had something to show for all the hours I wasted.

Hey wait, I do, I have a blog post. That would count for something.

Well, since I have you, you want to see my newsletter. Its actully useless at the moment, but hey, check it out, let me know what you think:

not to seek for love

Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.
